How to Set a Password on Your Abiotic Factor Server
Setting a password for your Abiotic Factor server is a simple but essential step if you want to control who joins your game. Whether you're running a private session for friends or just want to prevent random players from connecting, enabling password protection helps maintain a secure and personalized multiplayer experience. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to set that up on your server.
Note: Be sure that your Abiotic Factor server is fully stopped before making any configuration changes or setting updates!
Using the Control Panel
Navigate to your Abiotic Factor server's dashboard.
Locate and click the Game Settings option on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
While on the Basic tab, locate the Server Password field.
Make the change as desired.
Click the Submit button to save your changes.
Start your server.
Editing Launch Parameters
If you don't have access to Nodecraft's Control Panel, and/or possibly self-hosting your server, you'll need to edit your server's Launch Parameters, also known as the Commandline.
Edit or Add:
-ServerPassword=
providing your desired password after the equals sign.
Conclusion
With your server password now in place, only players who know the password will be able to connect, giving you full control over your game environment. This is especially useful for private play sessions, community events, or testing setups. If you ever need to remove or change the password, you can easily update the setting following the same steps.
