How to Get Leather in Hytale

In Hytale leather is an important part of a lot of crafting recipes, including armor. Today we are going to cover how you can gather hides and turn them into leather. 

Type of Hides and How to Acquire them

There are three different types of hides, Light, Medium and Heavy hide

Light Hide drops from Chicken, Cows, Deer, Pigs, Rats, Boars and Antelopes. 

Medium Hide drops from Hyenas, Wolves, Sabertooth cats, Lava Frogs and Fen Stalkers

Heavy Hide drops from Yetis, Bears and Mosshorns

How To Turn Hide into Leather

To turn your Hides into Leather you need a Tanning Rack which can be crafted at a normal Workbench using any 3 stone, 3 light hide and any 6 logs.

With your Tanning Rack you don’t need anything besides the hide you want to convert. Just place your desired hide into the Tanning rack and the process will start automatically and once it’s done the leather will appear in the Output side. 

Conclusion

You now have leather. Later on in the game you can upgrade your tanning rack if you’d like This will allow you to tan more than one type of hide at a time opposed to just being able to process one type at a time.
