How to Change Your Minecraft Skin

Changing Your Skin in the Minecraft Launcher
Make sure youβre looking at the Java Edition portion of the launcher. *For Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, see our article on How to Change Your Skin in Minecraft:Bedrock Edition
Click on Skins at the top of the launcher.
Optional: Add a new skin to the launcher by clicking the New Skin button and selecting a file from your computer.
Select a skin by hovering over the skin and clicking the Use button.
Changing Your Skin on Minecraft.net
Login to minecraft.net.
Navigate to the profile page by hovering over your account name in the upper right-hand corner and clicking on profile.
Click on Change Skin under the Java Edition tile.
Select a character model based on your skin file (Either Steve or Alex). Note: the dimensions for the base models for Steve and Alex are different sizes, keep that in mind when designing and uploading skin files
Upload the skin file by clicking Select File on the page and then selecting your skin file from your computer.
Changing Your Cape
Login to minecraft.net.
Navigate to the profile page by hovering over your account name in the upper right-hand corner and clicking on profile.
Click on Change Skin under the Java Edition tile.
Scroll to the bottom of the page where you see Change Your Cape - PC/Mac
Click on the cape you want to change it to.
