One of the more exciting features added in the Feybreak update to any Palworld Server owners is the ability to send your Pals on expeditions of their own. This unlocks the ability for your battle-hardend Pals to collect rare resources without you having to fair the dungeons yourself.
What you need for Palworld Pal Expeditions
First, you'll need a Pal Expedition Station. This technology unlocks at level 15 and is one of the largest buildings in the game. Make sure you plan your base as this building alone takes up a huge portion of your base's buildable space. The Nodecraft staff member writing this article was able to push its back half into a nearby cliff to minimize its size.
Unlock Missions for Palworld Pal Expeditions
Once you've built the Pal Expedition Station in your dedicated server, you'll need to unlock the missions for Pal Expeditions. This is done by defeating the Bosses as shown on the screenshot above. For early-game to mid-game players, this means you'll likely have a limited selection of missions. That's okay, as you'll want to build up some combat-ready Pals before you send them off to their expeditions.
Select Pals for Expeditions
This step is an important part of Pal Expeditions if you want your Pals to return healthy and with loads of rewards. Thankfully, as shown above the UI pretty much tells you what is most likely to occur based on the selection of Pals you've made.
Protip: In early game and "low risk" expeditions it can be worth it to send a small selection of Pals, as you likely won't have many of the resources offered in the rewards.
As the risk level ramps up in these expeditions, include some of the stronger Pals you've collected on your Palworld server. While we were testing in early game we didn't seem to run into any inherit major risks with running under-powered expeditions. We'll update this article once we learn more about higher level expeditions.
How long do Pal Expeditions take?
After you've configured the Pal team to send on an expedition, you'll just have to wait until they get back. Like the egg mechanic in Palworld, it shows a progress bar until the expedition is completed.
If you're playing on a Palworld Server, you'll need to make sure the server stays online and that time is progressing normally for the expedition to complete. If you stop your server then you'll have to wait even longer for your Palworld Expedition to complete.
Palworld Expedition Rewards
Each expedition has it's own risks and rewards that ramps up with the level of the game. After an expedition is completed you'll get a chest inventory of loot you can snag.
