Here's a step-by-step guide on how to connect to your Renown server using the server browser in game.

Connect via "Browse Games" Option

  1. Ensure your server is online, and you've given it a recognisable name in the configuration settings (see How to Name Your Renown Server).

  2. Launch Renown.

  3. Click Play.

  4. FIRST change the server type in the bottom left to Community. We've noticed if it is already on community, you will have to choose a different option and hit refresh, then change it back to community and follow these steps.

  5. Hit refresh - now you should see a list of Community servers instead of Official Servers.

  6. Type the name of your server in the Search field to quickly find yours

  7. Double click to Join

  8. If you have set a password on your Renown server, you will have to enter it at this time.

Connect via IP Address

Joining by IP is broken in Renown at this time! We will leave the instructions here in case they fix it soon.

  1. Log in to your Nodecraft dashboard.

  2. Navigate to your Renown server.

  3. Click on the gear icon that might say Panel to open the Renown server control panel.

  4. In the Overview section, locate the Host Name or Numeric IP in the Server Information block.

  5. Copy the IP address and notate the Port. Renown does not accept DNS hostname at this time.

  6. Make sure you have turned your server online in the top left of the control panel.

  7. Launch Renown

  8. Click Play

  9. In the bottom center, click the arrow to change "Connect" to "Direct"

  10. Click on Direct

  11. Paste the server IP and enter the Port from your Nodecraft control panel. If you set a server password, enter it here as well.

  12. Hit connect.

Troubleshooting Tips

Ensure your server is running and displays 'Online' in green on the panel.

You can join your Renown server more than one way, but at this time joining by IP is broken in game, so we recommend setting a good server name and using the steps above to find it in the server browser.
