How to Change the Default Map on s&box Servers
s&box offers a massive library of user-generated content, including more custom maps than you can count. However, since there are over 100 different gamemodes available, some may not be compatible with custom maps and will instead load their own internal environments. When in doubt, you can leave your server's Default Map field empty to allow the game to automatically select the correct map for your chosen gamemode.
Change the Default Map in the Nodecraft Control Panel
Access your Dashboard: Log in to your Nodecraft Dashboard.
Open the Server Panel: Click the Panel button (represented by the gear icon) on your s&box server card.
Navigate to Settings: Locate Game Settings in the left-hand menu of your control panel.
Update the Default Map Name: In the Basic tab, find the Default Map Name field and type your custom Identifier (e.g., wpr.ttt) directly into the field and press Enter. See instructions for locating this ID below.

Save Changes: Click the blue Submit button at the bottom of the page to save your configuration.
Restart Server: Restart your server for the new map to initialize.
How to Find a s&box Map's Identifier
If you need to manually enter a map ID into your server, use the map identifier, which can be created with the following method:
Locate the Map: Visit the s&box map workshop in your browser and click on the map you wish to host.
Copy the ID from the URL: Look at your browser’s address bar. The identifier is the part of the URL following sbox.game/.
Format for the ID: In the gamemode ID, you will replace the forward slash (/) with a period (.).
Example: If the URL is
sbox.game/facepunch/flatgrassthe identifier isfacepunch.flatgrass.
Conclusion
Changing your s&box map is a seamless process through the Nodecraft control panel. Whether you're sticking to the classics or hosting a brand-new community creation, just remember to Save your changes and Restart the server to see the updates in action!
