How to Increase the Max Players on Your Satisfactory Server

This step-by-step guide will show you how to increase the maximum number of players allowed on your Satisfactory server. While this feature is not officially recommended by Coffee Stain Studios, it is possible to adjust the player limit.

Note: Be aware that increasing the limit beyond the default of four players may result in server performance issues. We recommend proceeding with caution.

Prepare the Server

Before you can increase the player limit, you'll need to complete the initial setup of your Satisfactory game server. This includes starting your server, claiming the server, and choosing your Starting Area. If you are unsure of how to claim your server, check out our guide here.

Edit the Game.ini Config File

Note: Before continuing, ensure that your Satisfactory server is offline.

  1. Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Satisfactory game server.

  2. Click on Server Files located on the left-hand side of the panel.

  3. Navigate to the following file directory: /FactoryGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/
Shows the configs folder in the Server Files

  4. Select the Game.ini config file and select Edit.

  5. At the end of the file, add the following lines:
    [/Script/Engine.GameSession]
    MaxPlayers=x
Shows the game.ini without the max players set

  6. Replace x with the desired numbers of players.

  7. Save your changes.

Restart your Satisfactory Server

After saving the changes to the Game.ini config file, restart your server. It will now support the number of players you've specified.

Adjusting Max Players on Your Client

There are reports that you may also need to adjust the player limit on your client, especially if you're using the Experimental Build. Here's how to do this:

1. On your Windows PC, navigate to the following directory: \%localappdata%\FactoryGame\saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\

2. Open the Game.ini config file and follow the same steps used to edit the server file.

3. Be sure to save your changes!
