Transferring Your World for The Isle
To transfer a world for The Isle server hosted by Nodecraft, you’ll need to follow these general steps. This process typically involves transferring save files and ensuring your server is set up to use the correct map and data.
Access Your Server Files
For this guide, we will be focusing on the built-in file access available on Nodecraft hosted servers.
If you have your The Isle server hosted through another server hosting company, you can still complete these steps through your servers file management system. Many server hosting companies, like Nodecraft, offer FTP access to your server files. Normally you will need the following:
A FTP client like Filezilla or WinSCP
The servers FTP address/IP
The servers Port
Your FTP Username and Password
Note: If your server host does not offer direct FTP access, they may provide this service through their control panel!
Upload the Save File
Note: Before making any changes, be sure that your The Isle server is fully stopped!
Navigate to your server's control panel.
Click Server Files on the left side.
Go to the following directory: /TheIsle/Saved
Click the Upload button to select your world and upload it to the server.
Once the upload is complete, Start your server.
Other Directories
You may notice there are other folders located within the Saved directory. These contain important information that your server uses to run on a normal basis. Here is a quick breakdown of some of them!
Folder | Description |
---|---|
Config | Holds the Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini files. |
PlayerData | Contains the save information about the players on your server and spawn IDs. |
SaveGames | Has the server's Migrations.save file. |
