Running a Hytale server sometimes means playing referee. Maybe someone needs a quick timeout, or maybe it’s time to remove access altogether. Thankfully, Hytale gives you simple commands to kick or ban players when needed. This guide walks through how to manage players using the server console or in-game commands so you can keep things running smoothly.

Kicking a Player from the Server

  1. Open your dashboard

  2. Locate your Hytale server and click on the panel button

  3. Once on your panel click on the console tab on the left-hand sidebar

  4. In the console type kick <player username> to kick them from the server.

You have now kicked a player from your server.

If you are an Admin/OP on the server, these commands can also be executed from in-game. To do so, simply press / on your keyboard which will open the command field/chat. You can also use the enter key to open chat and simply add a / before your command.

Adding and Removing Players from the Ban List.

  1. Open your dashboard

  2. Locate your Hytale server and click on the panel button

  3. Once on your panel click on the console tab on the left-hand sidebar.

  4. Once on the console you can type ban <player username> to add someone to the ban list. To remove a player from the list type, unban (username).

You have now added or removed a player from the banned list. When banning a player, it will also kick them from the server. If the player that you are trying to ban is an Admin/OP they will need to have their Admin/OP status removed or they will be able to evade the ban and will not be kicked.

Conclusion

That’s all there is to it. With a couple of commands, you can kick a player, add them to the ban list, or remove a ban when things cool off. Just remember that Admins and OPs play by different rules, so their permissions may need adjusting first.

From here, you’re in full control of who stays and who goes. Hopefully you never need to use these commands too often, but when you do, you now know exactly where to find them.
