Setting the Gamemode on Your CS2 Server

As a Counter-Strike 2 community server owner, you have access to a range of built-in game modes including Training, Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and more. Switching between these modes is simple and allows you to keep gameplay fresh and engaging for your players.

Using the Game Settings

  1. Open your Counter-Strike 2 Game Panel.

  2. Locate the Game Settings tab.

  3. In the Basic tab use the drop-down menu select the desired Game Mode.

  4. Submit to save changes.

  5. Start your server.

Using the Server Files

  1. Open your Counter-Strike 2 Game Panel.

  2. Navigate to the following directory:

    /game/csgo/cfg/server.cfg

  3. Click Edit on the server.cfg file.

  4. Locate the line that starts with game_mode.

    Note: If the option game_mode or game_type if not available then please insert the command to the server.cfg .

  5. Change its value to the desired game_mode and game_type.

  6. Select Save.

  7. Start your server.
