Whether you're new to server management or a seasoned pro, understanding the available configuration settings will put you on the path to hosting an epic gaming session. In this guide, we'll walk you through the basics and the more advanced configurations to optimize your Soulmask server.

Before diving into the more advanced configuration, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the basic settings in the Game Settings tab of the Nodecraft Pro panel. This is where you can easily manage your server’s password, admin access, player limits, and other general settings.

Once you've familiarized yourself with these basic options, you're ready to move on to the in-depth customization of your Soulmask server.

In-Depth Configuration: Adjusting Soulmask Settings

Soulmask offers a wide variety of settings to help you balance the game based on your personal preferences. This guide explains how to access and adjust these settings, both in-game and by editing server files.

You can change your game server settings in two ways:

  1. In-game using the Admin Console.

  2. Manually by editing the server config files directly.

Using the In-Game Admin Console

To access live server settings during gameplay, you need Admin access. Check out our How to Become an Admin guide for step-by-step instructions.

Adjusting Settings in the Coefficients Menu

Once you've gained admin access, the Coefficients Menu allows you to tweak individual game settings, whether you're playing on a local game or a dedicated Soulmask server.

Editing the Settings File

For more control over your server, consider editing the server files outside the game. This method allows you to alter gameplay behavior and balance in a more granular way.

Server File Location

  1. Navigate to the Server Files tab in your Nodecraft Pro panel and find the following directory:

/WS/Saved/GameplaySettings

2. Locate the file named GameXishu.json. This is the file that contains all the gameplay settings.

Important Notes Before Editing

  • Stop the server before making any changes to the settings file. If the server is running, it may overwrite any changes you make.

  • Create a backup of the settings file before editing it. Mistakes in formatting can cause the game to revert the file to default values.

  • Minimize server downtime by copying the file, editing the copy, and replacing the original when you're ready. Restart the server afterward.

Editing the GameXishu.json File

Select the GameXishu.json file and click the Edit button. You’ll see that the file is divided into three sections labeled 0, 1, and 2, each containing a full set of game settings.

After you’ve made your edits, be sure to Save Changes and then Start your server.

With these tips, configuring your Soulmask server is straightforward. By mastering both the basic and advanced settings, you can customize gameplay to your liking and create a seamless experience for your community. Dive in, tweak those settings, and watch your Soulmask world come to life!
