How to Join your Soulmask Server
There are several different ways to join a Soulmask server. Depending on your location and the server’s setup, some methods might work better than others. Below are the methods you can use to connect from any location.
Join via Server Name
If you're geographically close to the server, you might find it by browsing the list of Private Servers. The server's name is the one you set in the Game Settings tab of the Nodecraft Pro Panel.
However, this might not work for servers physically far away from you, as the list is limited. The methods below will allow players to join from any location.
Note: After creating a character on a server, you no longer need to join via the server selection screen. Simply press “Continue” from the main menu to see a list of servers you've previously played on and join one directly. However, this list may also be limited in how many it will show.
Join via Invitation Code
Using an invitation code is one of the most reliable ways to join a Soulmask server, especially for the first time. Here’s how to find and use the invitation code:
Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Soulmask server.
Once the server shows as Online, go to the Console tab.
Search for the text
SERVER UNIQUE ID
in the console log. This line will contain your server's unique ID, or invitation code, at the end.
Note: You may have to scroll up a little bit in the Console to find it.
Once you have the invitation code, enter it in the top-right corner of the server selection screen in the game. If the server is password-protected, you'll be prompted to enter it. You can also share the invitation code with anyone you want to invite to your server!
Direct Connect
Another method is using Direct Connect. You'll need the following information:
Your Soulmask server’s IP address which is found on the Overview tab in the Server Information box.
The server’s game port, which we have defaulted to 8777.
The server password, if set on the Game Settings tab.
To connect, press the “Connect to the server directly” button at the bottom of the server selection screen, and enter the required information in the popup.
Favorite Server (Steam)
You can add your server to your Steam favorite servers list, which will ensure it shows up in the Private Servers section in the game. Here’s how:
Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel and go to the Overview tab.
Find your server’s IP address and Query Port (default is 27015).
In the Steam client, go to the View menu and select Game Servers.
Click the Favorites tab in the window that opens.
Press the “+” button at the bottom to add a server. Enter the server IP followed by a colon (`:`) and the Query Port (example”
1.2.3.4:27015
).
The server must be running for it to be successfully added. Once added, it will appear in the game’s Private Servers list.
