How to Enable Vegan/Vegetarian Mode for The Forest
To enable Vegan or Vegetarian Mode for The Forest here at Nodecraft, you need to edit the server’s config file. These modes alter the behavior of enemies in the game, with Vegan Mode disabling enemies entirely and Vegetarian Mode spawning enemies only at night.
Nodecraft Pro
If you don’t have access to Nodecraft’s Control Panel, please skip ahead to the Editing Manually section.
Game Settings
Click the Game Settings tab on the left-hand side and locate the following:
Save and Restart the Server
After making your desired changes, make sure you click the Save button and then Restart the server for the changes to apply.
Editing Manually
Locate the Server Configuration Files
Go to the Server Files tab in Nodecraft Pro on the left-hand side, and locate the server.cfg
file.
If your server is not with us here at Nodecraft, or you’re using Windows, this is usually located at C:\\Users\\YourUsername\\AppData\\LocalLow\\SKS\\TheForestDedicatedServer
.
Edit the server.cfg
File
Select the server.cfg
file and click the Edit button.
Important: You can only use either Vegan Mode or Vegetarian Mode, not both simultaneously. Make sure only one of them is enabled (
on
) in theserver.cfg
file to avoid conflicts.
Enable Vegan Mode
To disable all enemies, add or change the following line in the server.cfg
file:
VeganMode on
This ensures that no enemies will spawn in the game.
Enable Vegetarian Mode
To only have enemies spawn at night, add or change the following line in the server.cfg
file:
VegetarianMode on
With this setting, enemies will appear only during nighttime.
Save and Restart the Server
After making your desired changes, make sure you click the Save button and then Restart the server for the changes to apply.
Verify the Changes
After you’ve restarted your server, verify that the modes are working as expected by playing on the server and checking enemy behavior.
